Printed certificates of freedom issued to African American residents of New York in April, 1816, and signed by New York City mayor Jacob Radcliff. Includes several blank printed forms and twenty-three completed certificates recording the individual's name, age, place of birth, height, current address, and date of manumission or status as a free born person of color.
